Mark A. Mighell, M.D., specializes in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He was an Orthopaedic resident at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. He completed a Shoulder and Elbow Surgery fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, training under Dr. Mark A. Frankle. Following his fellowship, he was asked to join the Florida Orthopaedic Institute Shoulder and Elbow Team, one of the highest honors to partner where one trained. He is currently co-director of the Shoulder and Elbow Department and fellowship program and is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons.

Dr. Mighell co-hosts the Current Solutions in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery training course and has over 25 publications in scholarly journals and texts. He is an instructor of surgery at the Uniformed School of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of South Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Prior to joining Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Mighell was on active duty (LCDR) at the Naval Medical Center, Department of Orthopedics, in Porstmouth, Virginia and was a Diving Medical Officer in Bahrain during Operation Desert Storm.

Dr. Mighell enjoys spending his free time boating with his wife and three children. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
